Why cable should only be cut using cable shears
Due to a scissors action, Knipex cable shears cut cable smoothly and cleanly – unlike diagonal cutters which crush and deform cable ends and insulation with their blades that meet at an obtuse angle.
The cable shears must not be used to cut hard wire because of the nature of their cutting edges and their specific suitability for shortening cable. Users can, for example, professionally shorten NYM-J 3x1.5 mm or NYM-J 5x2.5 mm and all other stranded and finely stranded Cu and Al cables up to 50 mm².
Knipex 95 22 165: cable shears requiring little effort
Compared to conventional diagonal cutters, the user only needs around one third of the physical effort when cutting using the Knipex 95 22 165, so that cutting is much easier on hands. Among other this, this is due to the very sharp cutting edges. Less tiring work substantially reduces strain for the fitter, particularly during building installation work. Due to the precision ground cutting edges, the user gets a clean, technically perfect cut: the ideal conditions for subsequent wire stripping and connection work.
Screwed joint with easy operation – opening spring to make work easier
These cable shears have the precisely running, bolted joint to thank for their very easy operation. The self-locking joint bolt can be tightened if necessary. Users can also deploy these cable shears to cut larger cable cross-sections without effort. The internal opening spring helps make work easier, as the Knipex 95 22 165 saves one hand movement during every operation. With their multi-component grips, these cable shears sit very comfortably in the hand.
